As a Domestic Assistant, your responsibility is to maintain a safe, hygienic and well-presented home.  This role is varied and will include responsibilities like keeping bedrooms tidy, wardrobes and clothes crease free, dusting, keeping the floor squeaky clean and carpets fresh, attending to the bathrooms to make sure they are sparkling and have plenty of toiletries in them.

The home offers an ever-continuing support network which starts here at application stage where we talk you through what to expect and what you will be doing when working in a care home as a Domestic Assistant.  The two-week induction, buddy & mentoring system, fun continuous online & classroom training and a 24/7 welfare support team – are here to support you; you really are never alone when working at Gibraltar Nursing Home.

Well prepared homemade food can coax a deep comfort within us, the familiar tastes and aromas can match the feeling of a warm embrace.  Each and every meal prepared in our home is individually crafted with the individual person we support in mind.  Using fresh locally sourced quality ingredients, our kitchen prepares meals as and when requested, and to the taste of those we care for.

The important role of a Kitchen Assistant is varied, but to give you a brief understanding of some of the responsibilities, you will be preparing food, ensuring high levels of cleanliness and food hygiene throughout the kitchen area, assisting in stock taking and helping family members with mealtime rituals such as pouring drinks, serving food, laying the tables.
